What you should have with you before starting the registration process.

If you are a parent/guardian, before starting the enrollment or enrollment renewal process, please ensure you have the following with you:

  • Your identification document;
  • Your student's identification document;
  • A digital photograph of your student/child;
  • Your Tax Identification Number and that of your ward/child;
  • The Social Security Identification Number of your child/student if you wish to benefit from the School Social Action support program.

Other information may be requested, such as proof of residence or other specific details.

Enroll Now: Preschool and Primary School (1st Cycle)

Parents/Guardians are hereby informed that   the registration period for Preschool and 1st grade runs from April 22nd to June 1st, 2026 .

Enrollments are done online, on the Enrollment Portal ( https://www.portaldasmatriculas.edu.gov.pt  ), and the parent/guardian must authenticate themselves using their Citizen Card, Digital Mobile Key, or access credentials to the Tax Authority system (Tax Identification Number and corresponding Password).

We would like to remind you of some important information that parents/guardians should be aware of:

  • Registrations must be completed within the stipulated deadline; registrations made after the deadline lose priority over all others.
  • In the enrollment process, students must list  5 school options , as a student may not get a place at their first-choice school.

To enroll, you will need the following documents:

  • The identification document of the parent/guardian;
  • The child's/student's identification document;
  • A photograph with a white background (showing only the child's/student's face) in digital format;
  • Your Tax Identification Number and the Social Security Number of the child/student if you wish to benefit from the School Social Action support program.

Other information may be requested, including documents proving address and family composition, obtained from the Tax Authority's website.

You must register your child through the Enrollment Portal at https://portaldasmatriculas.edu.gov.pt.

Before starting the enrollment process, the parent/guardian must authenticate themselves on the Enrollment Portal. Authentication can be done using the Citizen Card, Digital Mobile Key, or access credentials to the Tax Authority systems.

For authentication using the Citizen Card, the following is required:

To authenticate using the Digital Mobile Key, you must first request a key. You can find information regarding the Digital Mobile Key request and the authentication process at  https://www.autenticacao.gov.pt/a-chave-movel-digital .

For automatic filling of your student's identification data in the registration form, you can use their citizen card with address PIN. Although not mandatory for registration, an application to read PDF documents may be necessary, as this is the format of the supporting documents issued by the Registration Portal. If you do not have one, you can install, for example, Adobe Acrobat Reader (available at  https://get.adobe.com/br/reader/ ).

To ensure the process goes smoothly, we recommend:

  • Using an up-to-date web browser;
  • Browser with Javascript and cookies enabled;
  • You should clear your browser's cache and refresh the page (by pressing CTRL+F5);
  • If you have a content blocker installed (for example, an ad blocker), it is strongly recommended that you disable it for this Portal.

If the parent or guardian does not have access to computers, they can register their child at the school cluster in their area of ​​residence, regardless of their first school preference.
